Regional eSIMs are priced per gigabyte, but the number that actually matters is where the throttle kicks in.
Read the throttle, not the allowance
A 10GB plan that drops to 512kbps after 8GB is an 8GB plan with a slow tail. Compare the full-speed allowance across providers and the cheapest-looking option often moves.
Country coverage is not uniform
A regional plan may cover six countries but carry a preferred network in only two of them. In the others you get whichever partner has spare capacity, which in practice means slower data in exactly the places you were told were included.
Activate before you fly
Every provider here lets you install the profile in advance and start the clock on arrival. Doing it at the airport on public wi-fi is how people end up paying roaming rates for the first day.
